Taste the Oro del Desierto Coupage, an Organic Extra Virgin that is produced from the varieties of hojiblanca, arbequina and picual olives. A premium olive oil for which the olives are harvested early, thus preserving all the aromas and flavors of the olive fruit.
It is the most awarded EVOO of the Oro del Desierto brand, uninterruptedly occupying the first positions in the contests to which it is presented. In fact, in 2021 it ranked fourth in the Best Organic EVOO in the World category in the prestigious World’s Best Olive Oil ranking.
In addition to having won, also in 2021, various Gold medals such as those obtained in; the Olive China, Olive Japan, NYIOOC (New York), EVO IOOC Competition (Palmi, Italy), BIOL (Italy) and CINVE (Mérida).
It is a medium-soft and balanced fruity olive oil because it combines the flavor of three varieties of olives. And that they complement each other perfectly and between them they confer their exceptional properties to the whole.
For the elaboration of this Oro del Desierto Coupage organic, the master of the mill selects the olive and the proportions that will be used for the production of this juice. Thus, these quantities vary each year, although the usual thing is that they are estimated at 20% Arbequina, 20% Hojiblanca, and 60% Picual.
Oro del Desierto Mill
The mill that produces this extra virgin olive oil is called Rafael Alonso Aguilera sl, a family business dedicated to olive oil for more than seven generations. This mill is located in the desert of Tabernas, province of Almería (Spain). A peculiar climatology and orography of the area makes this extra virgin olive oil have exceptional qualities. Likewise, the olive groves have been certified as organic since 1995. And efficiency and sustainability is a “sine qua non” policy in the operation of the oil mill.
