Origin and production

The olive groves are right in the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park. And from among all the farms of the cooperative members and the cooperative’s own, the best olives are selected to produce this gourmet olive oil. Likewise, the selected olives belong to the Picuda and Hojiblanca varieties, native to the area and highly valued in the olive oil sector.

Despite being a cooperative olive oil, much emphasis has been placed on producing an excellent quality juice and making it known. In fact, there are several occasions in which they have held prominent positions in world rankings of EVOO. As an example, we highlight the following:

Cooperative society olive oil

This cooperative society is located in Priego de Córdoba (Córdoba), right in the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park. La Purisima is made up of more than 900 members, who together with the 400 hectares of the oil mill’s own farm, annually produce an average harvest of 15,000 tons of olives. These olives are of the Hojiblanca, Picuda and Picual varieties, and come from mountain olive groves due to the orographic singularity of the area.
