La Laguna PDO Baena Olive Oil
La Laguna PDO Baena is an olive oil for cooking, it is an extra virgin olive oil freshly squeezed cold that keeps all its properties. Now we present this olive oil in a bag-in-a-box container, for better conservation and practicality.
In addition, as its name indicates, it is a coupage and therefore has the wisdom of the master of the oil mill to mix the varieties of olives. This is not an easy task and requires a lot of experience and technique.
In relation to its aroma and flavor, they are of great balance, harmony and elegance. Something that allows us to enjoy a complexity of green nuances and aromatic ripeness of the Picual, Picuda and Hojiblanca olive varieties. Its entry into the mouth is very sweet, appreciating notes of ripe almonds and herbs. Finally, the bitterness is almost non-existent and the spiciness is very weak.
Bag in Box 3 liters
The presentation of the product is in bag box 3 liters. This capacity of 3 liters comes to adapt to the trend of market demand.
It is precisely the packaging of a bag in a cardboard box that has allowed La Laguna to be included within the Baena Protected Designation of Origin. One of the most prestigious olive oil PDOs at the national level. The reason is none other than the protection that this type of container provides to olive oil, with a vacuum bag that does not allow air to enter thanks to its dispenser. And on the other hand, the cardboard box that protects from light. Thus, bag-in-box oil is highly recommended from the point of view of preserving its content.
La Laguna is the original brand of its producer, Sucesores de Hermanos López. An oil mill with more than a century and a half of existence and located in the town of Luque (Córdoba). On the other hand, this brand receives its name from the farm where the olives are collected to obtain this juice: La Laguna del Salobral or del Conde.
In this farm where the olives are collected, the olive trees are at an altitude of between 300 and 700 m. And it is a traditional mountain olive grove with a steep slope. The area has a continental Mediterranean climate with average rainfall and marked temperature fluctuations. And the soil is clayey with a high calcium carbon content. Likewise, the harvest of the olives takes place from the end of November to January and the techniques used are mechanized and manual shaking.
