Origin and Production of El Empiedro

Additionally, the selected olives belong to the Picuda and Hojiblanca varieties, which are native to the area and highly valued in the olive oil sector.

Cooperative olive oil

This cooperative society is located in Priego de Córdoba (Córdoba), right within the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park. It is made up of more than nine hundred members who, together with the oil mill’s own 400-hectare estate, produce an average annual harvest of 15,000 tons of olives. These olives belong to the Hojiblanca, Picuda, and Picual varieties, and come from mountain olive groves due to the unique terrain of the area.
